Studying abroad

As members of Globeducate, our students are able to study for an academic year at Stonar School in England, one of our Globeducate British International Schools. Stonar is a leading boarding school for boys and girls, renowned for its outstanding pastoral care and excellent teaching and learning. By taking part in an exchange students grow in confidence, improve their English and become globally minded as they broaden their horizons and meet new friends.

At Stonar, more than 75 percent of students, boarders and day pupils, are British, offering an authentic British boarding school experience with genuine language immersion, following the same curriculum, sports and activities as classmates. In the cosy, comfortable boarding house, students share with either other English native speakers or those who speak a different first language – to encourage everyone to speak in English.

Out of school lesson times, students benefit from superb facilities for the arts, sports and horse riding and can take advantage of a wide range of visits and excursions. Stonar’s short-stay programmes offer genuine immersion in a traditional British boarding school for a full year – or if preferred, one or two terms, or half a term.

A summer abroad

Globeducate British International Schools students have the opportunity to participate in a number of different holiday camps in the UK , Canada and Andorra. The underlying vision for any of these short courses away from home is to give our students, and those from other schools, the opportunity to be independent, to meet new friends from different countries and cultures, and to develop new skills and competencies. A holiday camp is the perfect environment to develop those linguistic skills, make new friends, gain independence and learn about the world around them.

Stonar School in South West England offers two summer holiday camps: Summer School English Plus and Residential Riding Camps.

For students aged nine to 15, this course, which can last for one to four weeks, combines 20 hours of language learning with up to 15 hours of a chosen specialist activity (horse riding, multi-activities, tennis, or art and photography), as well as team-building activities in the evenings, and visits to iconic cities and sites at the weekend. Class sizes of between eight and 14 students allows for personal attention and accommodation is single, twin and multiple occupancy rooms with shared bathroom facilities. All meals are provided.

For students aged nine to 16, this is a unique programme for one or two weeks, offering beginner through to advanced riders the opportunity to gain hands-on, in-depth daily stable management and riding experience. Students can bring their own pony or horse, or use one of the school´s own. They will also play pony games and enjoy field riding, and will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as swimming and, during the evenings in the boarding house, fun and relaxing team-building activities. A riding competition is also a highlight of the week!

Students aged 14 to 18 (Grades 9 to 12) can take a month-long course with Blyth Academy, our group of schools in Ontario, Canada. Programmes are offered in-person and virtually, and learning is highly personalised and experiential. A wide range of subjects is available, including maths, sciences, English, French and the humanities. Sessions are led by experienced Blyth Academy teachers and may include discussions and collaborative group work – through breakout rooms if a course is offered online. Assessment includes assignments and final exams, and all classes are recorded and available for students to reference when preparing work.
