Early Years at Cambridge House Valencia
The foundations for learning throughout a student's school life are laid in Early Years. It is a crucial stage in which children develop emotionally, physically, socially and cognitively, which is why our curriculum at this stage is structured around the seven areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional education

- Mathematics
- Understanding of the world
- Art and design
At Cambridge House British International School, each student's progress is monitored on an individual basis. At this educational stage, classes have a teacher and a Teaching Assistant, which allows each student to work at their own pace in a welcoming, friendly and stimulating environment.
Family-school communication is particularly important at this stage of education in order for pupils to make good progress. We advocate and promote fluid, two-way communication with all our parents, and work hand in hand with our families to guide our pupils through their educational journey.
Our native English-speaking infant teaching staff are a fantastic team of professionals with proven experience in British or international schools. Their main aim is to motivate and inspire their pupils, both in and out of the classroom.
Playful and motivating learning
The Early Years Foundation Stage consists of Nursery and Reception (3 and 4 years). At this age, students learn through play and discover the world around them, experiment with different hands-on activities and improve their motor skills.
The curriculum focuses on learning English following the same methodology used in a British school in the UK, so children learn the language like a native speaker. This combined with songs and games, as well as creative activities and music, promotes a positive attitude towards learning, making it a natural and fun process.
Spanish is also part of the curriculum at this British school in Valencia, from Nursery onwards.
English is learnt in a holistic way.
